State Duma may mull ban on Georgian wine, water imports on Mon
MOSCOW, Jul 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s State Duma Council will debate stopping Georgian wine and water exports and banning money transfers to that country on Monday, Sergei Neverov, head of the United Russia party in the parliament’s lower house, told reporters.
“Today we will initiate a decision in the State Duma Council to terminate exports wine and water from Georgia, and on a ban on the transfer of money to Georgia,” he said.
Direct air traffic between Russia and Georgia was halted on Monday under President Vladimir Putin’s decree following the extremist activities that are taking place in the country.
